Welcome to the website of the 'Pirates For Hire' team for the Sucata Run 2010. On the last bank holiday of August we will be driving from Devon, to Cabo da Roca in Portugal; Europe's most westerly point. This is a round trip totaling over 3000 miles, all done with the aim of raising money for Gemin-i.
The Sucata Run is a bargain basement banger rally tour where teams of up to 5 people drive to Europe's most westerly point in 4 days, in bangers costing no more than £250. It takes place over the August bank holiday weekend (26th - 30th) and culminates at the breath taking Guincho beach on the Portuguese coast. Now an established annual event, over the past few years the Sucata Run has helped to raise tens of thousands of pounds for charity and in doing so, has helped change the future for schoolchildren around the world.
Leaving from our start point in Yarcombe, Devon, the whole journey comes to a total round trip distance of over 3000 miles! We will be completing this epic trip in our recently commandered banger; a 1995 BMW 5 series estate. It should be ideal for crusing the highways and byways on the continent and with any luck it will be able to hold together for the duration!
To find out more about the details of our trip and the cause that we are raising for, simply navigate the tabs along the top of screen. Thanks for visiting!
